Thank you IndiansInKuwait & LWDLIK for sharing :) An evening of art, music, food, fashion & goodwill. What more can we ask for? Don't miss it!
An Art Exhibition for the second time: A collaboration between Amira Behbehani & Banana Republic but this time it is going to be @ FA Gallery, an event of art, music, canapés. 15% of all painting proceeds made during the exhibition will be donated to the Hayatt Charity. Memories are contained within us; they shape us, they make us. This exhibition is dedicated to the memory of my grandmother's essence: her laugh, her joie de vivre, her overall sense of being. And, might I add, this exhibition is dedicated to all those sweet memories that swim like dainty fish inside my brain - year after year, tear after tear. As we know, even our senses can invoke powerful memories. A smell, a touch, a taste can all take you back to days of yore. In each stroke of my brush, I remembered my childhood, my adolescence and all the events in my life that molded me into who I am today. I am fortunate to be able to crystallize my memories on canvases, and share them with you. They are reflected in every detail present in my paintings. Today, I share with you - me. K'S PATH will hold its Shelter Open Day where they will have fun activities lined up including shelter tours, crafts for kids and an educational session on how waste harms wildlife. This is a great opportunity to get involved and get to know more about some of K'S PATH's volunteer activities - walk their dogs, groom their cats, feed their donkeys, interact with their staff and amazing team of volunteers! And if you're considering bringing home a pet cat or dog, meet their adorable dogs and cats up for adoption! Don't miss this fun day out!
Even though this may be a late invite, Operation HOPE urges you to consider and be a part of the following:
Knitters and Crocheters of all experience levels are invited to take part in an event to make a community-crafted giant Kuwaiti flag as part of this year's National Day celebrations! Knitting will be from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm at: the Ties Center in Shuhada, Block 4, Street 413, Villa #67 on Tuesday, February 7th. The participants will attempt to craft as many 4x4 inch squares as they can in green, red, white or black. The completed squares will then be joined together to build the flag. If you wish to contribute to the event but are unable to attend, you can STILL participate by bringing your own 4x4 inch squares to the Ties Center where the ever-growing flag will be made and displayed until mid-February. There will be a 'speed knitting' competition where expert 'needle clackers' will have ten minutes to knit like crazy! The one who completes the most stitches is the winner and will receive a prize. The person providing the most squares will also receive an award. Even if you don't knit/crochet, you can help them create the flag by sewing the pieces together. The flag is to be presented to the Emir along with a book of signatures of all contributors to the project.
